In the home game against Buffalo, Ovetjkin scored the consolation goal to 4–6 when Washington ultimately lost the game 5–8.
Ovetjkin's goal means that he has scored 37 so far this year, despite missing 16 games due to injury. Washington now has nine games left in the regular season and will next face Boston away.
