On Friday evening, it was “J-day” in Copenhagen, an annual event celebrated in the city’s bars when Tuborg launches its Christmas beer.
But for many Swedes, the journey home was a nightmare. Several passengers told Aftonbladet about trains that were too crowded to move, people fainting in the crush and panicked passengers pulling the emergency brake.
Skånetrafiken described the whole thing as an “extremely stressful situation”, with an unusually large number of passengers on the move and several trains canceled.
It was also reportedly difficult to get passengers to follow instructions.
Unfortunately, they haven’t listened, because they may have been a little refreshed, says Sandra Patraska of Skånetrafiken to Aftonbladet.
