The Hamas-controlled civil defense in Gaza reports that 72 people have been killed in the Palestinian areas on Thursday. Of these, 21 people are said to have been shot dead in connection with a distribution center for food distribution.
Israel's military reports that forces have fired "warning shots" against "suspects" who approached them at the Netzarim corridor, the same place where the dead had waited for food distribution according to the civil defense in Gaza. According to the military, they are "not aware of any injured individuals".
The remaining 51 people are said to have been killed in northern Gaza in nine different attacks.
In recent weeks, at least 300 people have been killed when they tried to get to emergency aid distributions in Gaza.
