In Värmland, the three allocated bears were shot directly. In Gävleborg, 30 bears had been shot just after 11 am, and in Dalarna, 20.

The County Administrative Board in Jämtland County has, according to Svensk Jakt, not yet updated from the hunt, so more bears may very well have been shot during the premiere morning.

According to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, there were approximately 2,800 bears in Sweden in the autumn of 2022 after that year's license hunting had ended.

The license hunting continues until October 15.
