The Hamas-controlled Health Ministry in Gaza said on Saturday that at least 69,169 people have died, after 284 new victims were identified since October 31. Several of the new victims were found in rubble but could not be identified until now.
Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began on October 10 this year, 241 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the authorities, whose figures are considered credible by the UN and a number of independent experts.
The authorities in Hamas-controlled Gaza do not distinguish between combatants and civilians, but have previously claimed that around half of those killed are women and children.
