More than 450 people have died due to starvation and malnutrition in Gaza, according to the health authorities in the Hamas-controlled area. 150 of them are reported to be children, writes The Guardian.
In late August, the UN-supported IPC, which monitors food availability in the world, established that fully developed starvation prevails in Gaza City and its surroundings. Only since then have 175 deaths been registered, among them 35 children.
The health authorities warn that Gaza's healthcare is facing "catastrophic challenges" as the shortage of medicines and medical equipment worsens.
