Israel has killed well over 200 Palestinians since the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect, according to figures from the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry. The number of injured is in the hundreds.

Since the ceasefire was declared on October 10, Israeli military forces have killed more than 240 Palestinians in Gaza, according to statistics released on Wednesday. During the same period, more than 600 people have been injured in Israeli attacks.

A large proportion of the deaths were reported on a single day – October 28, when Israel bombed the Gaza Strip for 16 hours after accusing Hamas of violating the ceasefire. Most of the more than 100 killed that day were civilians.

Others have been killed or injured near the so-called Yellow Line, which is the border behind which Israeli soldiers have withdrawn in accordance with the agreement on the first phase of the ceasefire.

The Ministry of Health's figures do not distinguish between civilians and combatants, but have long been considered reliable and are regularly reported by the UN and international organizations.

The figures published on Wednesday cover the period October 10–November 4. On Wednesday afternoon, the Haaretz newspaper reported two more Palestinians killed near the Yellow Line.

Since the outbreak of war in October 2023, following deadly Hamas attacks on Israel, nearly 69,000 people have reportedly been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza. More than 170,000 have been injured, according to the Health Ministry.

In addition, authorities in Gaza estimate that thousands of people remain in rubble after the last two years of sustained Israeli bombardment.
