Among the released prisoners are young people, women and people over 60 whose releases were scheduled within six months to a year, according to a government statement on Thursday, local time.
Just a few weeks earlier, Cuba said it would release 51 prisoners as a gesture of goodwill toward the Vatican.
The releases come after the US increased pressure on the island nation, primarily by halting oil deliveries.
