At least 20 people have been killed in a traffic accident in the state of Kano in northwestern Nigeria, according to local authorities.
A heavy truck and a passenger vehicle collided on a highway on Sunday, after the passenger vehicle drove against the traffic, according to the authorities. Only three passengers are said to have survived the accident, while 19 men and three women died.
Car accidents are common in Nigeria, and caused 5,400 deaths in the country last year.
