Many of the dead are believed to be women and children, and further individuals have been injured.

In the southernmost city of Khan Yunis, five children, four women, and one man, all from the same family, were killed, according to Nasser Hospital, which received the bodies.

Tents where refugees had taken shelter in al-Mawasi in Khan Yunis have been attacked. Israel has called al-Mawasi a humanitarian zone, but simultaneously bombed the site.

Israel is not commenting on the attacks, instead saying it is investigating the reports.

Terror-listed Hamas is accusing Israel of trying to starve the population in Gaza after Israel once again announced that no humanitarian aid would be allowed into the strip. Hamas is calling it a war crime.

Over two million people are now dependent on the ready-made meals that aid organizations have to offer daily, according to Ocha, the UN's coordination body for humanitarian aid. The meals are sufficient for around half of them.

The Gaza war has been ongoing since October 7, 2023, when Hamas carried out a large-scale attack on Israel.
