On video clips published by the US federal drug police authority (DEA), police are seen announcing their presence outside the building and ordering guests to leave with their hands visible. Others are seen fleeing after police smashed windows. At the time, approximately 200 people were estimated to be at the nightclub.

The illegal nightclub has been investigated for several months for, among other things, drug trafficking, prostitution, and "violent crimes", according to Jonathan Pullen at DEA, who says that several weapons were found during the operation.

The arrests can be seen in the light of the Trump administration stepping up the fight against the judiciary regarding undocumented migrants.

The US Attorney General Pam Bondi writes on X that "as we approach his 100 days in office, the US President Donald Trump's directive to make the US safe again is achieving results!"
