It was after the 1-4 loss against Ljungskile last week that Max Mölder gave his players sharp criticism at the postmatch press conference.

The Växjö club's management then fired Mölder and let assistant coach Daniel Friberg take over as head coach.

Away against Norrköping, who were also relegated from the Allsvenskan last year, Växjö suffered their fourth loss of the season after nine rounds. Norrköping led 2–0 at halftime, which was also the final score.

"We're eating them right now," one of the scorers, Tim Prica, told TV4 Play at halftime.

Norrköping climbed to fifth place, while Öster remained in eleventh place in the Super League table.
