Several Russian and Belarusian skiers have been given the go-ahead by the International Ski Federation (FIS) to compete as neutral athletes next season. Anne Lindboe opposes this.

As long as Russia continues its brutal war of aggression against Ukraine, Russian athletes have no place at the starting line in Holmenkollen, she says.

"The fact that FIS opens the door to Russian athletes does not mean that the government has to do the same," she also says.

Norway has a restrictive visa and entry policy for Russian citizens. But there is an exception for professional athletes. Anne Lindboe now believes the government should reconsider this exception.

Next year's World Cup competitions will be held in Holmenkollen on March 12–14.
