It was in the second period, with the score tied at 1-1, that Oskar Steen put the puck in the net, but instead of celebrating, the 28-year-old checked the clock. It soon became clear that Steen had scored with half a second left, and that Färjestad had a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.

Two minutes into the final period, Mikkel Eriksen extended the lead to 3-1 for the home team. The 19-year-old was recalled to the club from his loan spell at Mora - for whom he played during Friday's match against Kalmar - after several injuries to the squad.

I was told yesterday that I would be playing here today, Eriksen tells TV4.

It was HV71 who took the lead in the match. Jan Mysak made it 1-0 on the power play with half an hour played. 90 seconds later Färjestad equalized through Jack Berglund.
