He succeeds Frida Edman and has been program manager with responsibility, among other things, for the seminar program since 2018. Together, they have been the fair's leadership duo, but now Ekström will step up as the new manager on Monday instead.
"We will reach more, reflect more voices and create an even stronger conversation about literature, education, and our contemporary era", he says in a press release.
During his time as program manager, the fair has, among other things, established the new literature prize Sjöjungfrun and launched the club initiative Book Fair by night.
Frida Edman becomes the new CEO of Göteborg City Theatre, after eight years as manager of the Book Fair.
