It is thanks to Saldaña's latest effort in the third part of the "Avatar" film series that she now takes the top spot. In total, her films have grossed $15.47 billion, equivalent to just under 143 billion kronor.
In "Avatar: Fire and Ash," she returns to the role of Neytiri. The previous two "Avatar" films are number one and three on the list of highest-grossing films of all time. Between them is "Avengers: Endgame," in which Saldaña also has a role.
Saldaña won an Oscar last year for Best Supporting Actress for "Emilia Pérez," becoming the first American of Dominican descent to win the award.
