The opera was composed by Lorin Maazel, and Tobias Ringborg conducts the production, which comes from Theater Regensburg in Germany. It will premiere on October 31.
This spring, Backa Teater in Gothenburg is also producing a stage version of "1984".
Verdi's "La Traviata" opens the season at the Gothenburg Opera on September 12. There will be more Verdi on February 27 next year when the thriller "Luisa Miller" premieres with Matilda Sterby in the title role. On May 2, the "seductive" opera "Manon" by Jules Massenet, directed by Eirik Stubø, will premiere.
The dance programme offers a couple of world premieres: "See You Sunday & The Promise" (13/11) and "Bare State" (29/1).
