With the acquisition, Norwegian Orkla wants to secure increased production capacity and continue the international focus on Bubs candy, which has received a major boost after the viral trend surrounding Swedish candy.
“Demand for Bubs remains very strong,” CEO Ingvill T. Berg says in the press release.
The European Candy Group, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of vegan candy, has been producing parts of the Bubs range since 2025.
The deal is expected to be completed later this year following regulatory approvals.
