Every year, thousands of orienteers gather to compete in O-ringen. This year, they will have the chance to donate their compasses to Ukrainian soldiers who need them in the war against Russia, reports P4 Jönköping.
The idea comes from Finland, where they collected over 1,000 compasses for Ukraine in a similar way, which has a great need for analog instruments when GPS signals are disrupted.
O-ringen, which is usually called the world's largest orienteering competition, will take place in Jönköping next week and it is the organizer club IKHP that is behind the initiative.
Both old and new compasses are accepted.
