Örgryte goalkeeper Mathias Nilsson fainted during breakfast in Spain, club says he was bleeding heavily

It was during the camp in Spain that the 27-year-old fainted. Teammates quickly arrived to see how Nilsson was doing.

He was only unconscious for a few seconds. When the first player arrived, he was awake and conscious again," Andersson says.

The goalkeeper was then taken to the hospital, where his brain was X-rayed.

"You always get worried when someone collapses and faints like that, but it could certainly have been a matter of not having enough fluids, things like that that play a role," Andersson says.

The Örgryte player remains in the hospital while the rest of the team travels home on Monday. The Gothenburg club begins its Allsvenskan season at home against Malmö FF on April 5.
