The cost of building the Öresund Bridge will soon be paid off, and the County Administrative Board in Skåne has been tasked with analyzing how revenue from bridge tolls can best be used in future.

It is estimated that Swedish bridge revenues will amount to SEK 25 billion by 2050, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.

"Money generated by the Öresund Bridge will benefit the Öresund region," says Carlson in a press release.

This could involve both state infrastructure and investment in regional public transport. The County Administrative Board is tasked with negotiating with the municipalities and regions concerned about what should be prioritised.
