Örebro victims ridiculed by racists – Green Party leader reports to police

Sweden must take a stand against all those who incite racist violence. This is the opinion of Annika Hirvonen (Green Party) who is reporting comments on the right-wing populist website Samnytt to the police.

After the act in Örebro, where several people with foreign backgrounds were killed, several individuals write about how they wish for further massacres on immigrants and Muslims. This is shown by an investigation conducted by the newspaper Expo of the comment fields on Samnytt.

Now, Annika Hirvonen, group leader and migration policy spokesperson for the Green Party, has reported the comments to the police, which she also recounts in a debate article in Expressen.

"The equal signs that are repeatedly made between immigration on the one hand and crime on the other hand make the majority of Sweden's immigrants invisible and legitimize, in the eyes of the right-wing extremists, violence – also deadly violence – against immigrants", writes Hirvonen.

In a written comment to TT, she writes:

"While an entire city mourns, right-wing extremists write about how they wish for more massacres on immigrants and Muslims. /.../ I have reported these comments to the police, they should be legally tested to see if they, individually or collectively, constitute agitation against a group of people."
