On March 21 this year, 20-year-old Hugo Mosshagen was shot dead in a residential area in Väster, Örebro. He was found with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hugo Mosshagen did not appear in any police records and had no known connection to the criminal gang environment.

The preliminary investigation is now closed because the suspected murderer has died.

"We suspected an adult man with weapons experience. Through film material we can place him close to the crime scene at the time, and the investigation has shown that he was involved in the planning and execution himself. No one else is involved," says investigation leader Anders Mullfors at a press conference.

After the murder, the police opened a preliminary investigation into murder, but have not arrested anyone. In the investigation, the police have concluded that Hugo Mosshagen was at the scene by chance and that he was not the intended target.

In May, a person was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder, but the person was later removed from the investigation and released.
