A 25-year-old man was arrested at Arlanda Airport on Thursday after being deported from Indonesia. He is suspected of several counts of preparation for murder, police say.

The man has been in Jakarta since August and was deported on Wednesday for staying in the country too long, the police write on their website. According to the police, his arrival in Sweden is the result of international cooperation.

"There is a lot of work from the Police Authority behind this and our counterparts in Indonesia have acted quickly. We are grateful for their efforts," says National Police Commissioner Petra Lundh in a comment.

The man is suspected of preparing to commit murder in several cases, aggravated weapons offenses and involving a minor in criminal activity. He is also suspected of aggravated crime in Denmark and is considered to be a driving force in what the police call "violence as a service", a crime where violent assignments are advertised online.

A detention hearing against the man is scheduled for Friday.
