This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Sixten Gemzéu major music scholarship. It will be awarded to a chamber music ensemble for the first time.

Opus 13 consists of Sonoko Miriam Welde, Daniel Thorell, Edvard Erdal, and Albin Uusijärvi. The ensemble has quickly gained considerable attention both in Sweden and internationally.

The jury's motivation highlights the quartet's interplay and musicality: "With outstanding sensitivity, technical precision and artistic integrity, Opus 13 demonstrates the power and relevance of chamber music in our time."
