OpenAI in record-breaking funding round expected to raise over $100 billion

ChatGPT owner OpenAI is close to completing the first phase of a funding round expected to raise more than $100 billion (equivalent to SEK 910 billion), Bloomberg reports, citing sources.

It would be a new record for capital injections. The idea is to give ChatGPT the muscle to develop its AI tools.

The valuation of the entire ChatGPT would reach over $850 billion with the new capital, Bloomberg's sources say.

The capital injection would, according to the report, primarily come from strategic investors, including Amazon.com, Softbank Group, Nvidia and Microsoft.
