"OpenAI has no use, need or interest in Apple's trade secrets. OpenAI is building something completely new and different from Apple," OpenAI's lawyers wrote in a letter to the court, seen by Reuters.
Apple claims that OpenAI encouraged Apple employees seeking jobs to share trade secrets, including by bringing hardware with them, according to a lawsuit filed in early July.
"Apple should not be allowed to use a baseless lawsuit to compensate for its inability to retain its staff or its failure to integrate AI into its products," OpenAI's lawyers wrote in the letter, according to Axios.
