The American company Open AI will create an AI center in Sydney, Australia. The deal is worth more than 43 billion Swedish kronor and is expected to create thousands of jobs during development, according to the Australian government.

Open AI, the artificial intelligence company behind Chat GPT, has signed a partnership agreement with Australian company NextDC, a data operator based in Brisbane.

The technology companies will develop an AI center in the western parts of Sydney.

“Partnerships like these will help create good jobs, increase skills and spread the use of AI throughout our economy,” says Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers.

After the announcement of the deal, NextDC's stock rose by 4.1 percent.
