Under the seven-year agreement, AWS will immediately provide Open AI with computing power through hundreds of thousands of Nvidia graphics processors. It is Open AI's first contract with AWS, and CNBC describes the deal as the company's biggest step away from Microsoft to date.
“As Open AI continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, AWS’s world-class infrastructure will serve as the backbone for their AI ambitions,” AWS CEO Matt Garman said in a statement.
