A Tunisian lawyer and media personality has been sentenced to one year in prison for comments criticizing the country, according to her family.
Sonia Dahmani was arrested on May 11 when masked police stormed the bar association she had taken refuge in after getting into trouble for participating in a TV program.
The statement in question was a response to another commentator's claim that migrants from countries south of the Sahara were trying to settle in Tunisia for a better life.
