A person has been caught in an avalanche in Gaustatoppfossene in southern Norway, reports VG.
We have received information that at least one person is lying under the snow, says the rescue leader at Southern Norway's rescue center, to VG.
Rescue personnel are on their way to the area both on foot and by helicopter.
The exact location of the avalanche is not yet known, but the area is particularly known for ice climbing.
The ice climbing area at Gausta consists of several waterfalls on a 30-40 meter high cliff at 1,200 meters above sea level, according to the website Peakbook.
