The boy, who is over 15 years old, lives in another city, the police told P4 Malmöhus. He is suspected of endangering the public.
The alarm about the explosion in an apartment building in Lorensborg came at half past eight on Tuesday evening. No one was injured in the explosion, but residents were evacuated from their apartments.
The National Bomb Disposal Service found no additional explosives at the scene and the cordons were lifted at 4 a.m.
