The first shooting occurred during rush hour at 18:00 on the platform at Bagarmossen's subway station in southern Stockholm. No one was injured, but a man was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

We have been in the subway and searched for more perpetrators, says police spokesperson Carina Skagerlind.

About an hour later, a suspected shooting occurred, when the police were alerted at 19:00 to a villa in Järfälla, north of Stockholm. There were several people in the house, but no one was injured.

We have checked a large number of people, says Skagerlind.

Just before midnight, the police announced that they had arrested two teenagers who are now suspected of being behind the incident in Järfälla.

Shooting in Södertälje

Shortly after 21:00, the police were alerted to a local in Fornhöjdens center in Södertälje, where witnesses heard loud bangs. A wounded person was found on the spot and taken to hospital.

We have checked and brought in people for questioning, but that does not mean they are suspects. If someone is detained, I have no definitive answer, says Carina Skagerlind.

The police are classifying all three incidents as attempted murder.

In the two previous cases, we have a good picture of the course of events.

Unclear if they are connected

According to the police, it is too early to say if the incidents are connected.

We know that shootings often are connected, here we do not know yet, but generally, she says.

Skagerlind says that the police prevent serious violent crimes at least a couple of times a week.

But it's not always the case that we manage to prevent the crimes.
