According to a survey conducted by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and Verian, the most common reason for buying a garment was needing it for a party or celebration.
Almost four out of ten people buy newly produced garments at least every three months, or more often. The more often people buy new clothes, the more likely they are to think from the outset that they will use the garments less often.
The survey also shows that people are more willing to repair garments so they can use them for longer when the garments cost more. Twenty-eight percent said they would probably repair a sweater that cost 149 kronor, while 61 percent thought they were likely to repair the same sweater if it cost 1,499 kronor.
