The documentary, which is intended to be divided into three episodes, will follow the artists on a "spontaneous adventure" through the USA.
According to Rolling Stone the duo will "open up about life, love, loss and parenthood" in the production, which has not yet been given an official name.
The documentary is planned to be released sometime during 2026.
The news of the collaboration comes almost a year after the One Direction member Liam Payne died in Argentina after falling from a hotel balcony.
