The alarm came at 7 p.m. There were two people in the apartment, and both were taken to the hospital.
What caused the fire is unclear, and the police are not providing any details about the people involved.
"There are some unclear circumstances, and it is not possible to rule out a crime. Therefore, we have opened a preliminary investigation into murder," says police spokesperson Fredrik Svedemyr.
The case is being led by prosecutors.
