As peace talks between Ukraine, Russia and the United States continue, Russia has launched new, massive attacks on Ukraine. Around 1.2 million households have been left without power, according to Ukraine's presidential aide, Oleksiy Kuleba.

On X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote that the country was attacked overnight by over 370 drones and 21 missiles aimed at Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine. In Kharkiv, a maternity ward was reportedly hit, and among the injured was a child.

According to Kuleba, 800,000 customers are without power in Kyiv and 400,000 in Chernihiv.

Zelenskyy is now calling for continued strengthening of Ukraine's air defenses to protect the country's infrastructure during the winter months.

The attacks come after representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the United States held talks in the United Arab Emirates capital Abu Dhabi on Friday.

The talks resumed on Saturday, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
