The alarm was raised at 03.22 by a police patrol in the area. A person is said to have jumped onto the train roof.
"We can confirm that the person is dead," Linus Maxe at the police's regional command center told NT.
The person has not been identified and police have not released the deceased's age or gender. Police, ambulance and rescue services are on site at Norrköping Central Station.
"Somehow a person ended up on a train and was electrocuted," says Mikael Bergman, duty officer at police region east, to Expressen.
