The police are investigating the incident as attempted murder as they believe there was intent to kill.
"We believe the man has been injured several times with a sharp object," says police spokesperson Martina Gradian.
The alarm came just before 5 p.m. on Monday. The crime scene in central Eskilstuna has been cordoned off for further investigation.
It is not known what caused the incident.
It is unclear whether these two people know each other in any way. We are working to interview witnesses, and the arrested man will be questioned.
