She releases new music and appears on the TV show "På Spåret". Yukimi Nagano enjoys being both popular and personal. It was about time for me, I am ready to share more, she says.

She released her solo album "For you" as recently as last spring. But Yukimi Nagano is already back with the new EP "Yume", and feels "in sync with the music".

It feels fun to be a little more direct, to share while the iron is hot, she says.

Yukimi co-founded the Gothenburg electronic band Little Dragon, which has received a lot of attention, especially abroad. But perhaps she has been a little more anonymous in her songwriting before, she muses.

As a solo artist, she can be more personal.

The solo album was a chance to get into the personal, vulnerable. And this EP is more forward-looking and hopeful, she says.

Dream big

The album has “dreams” as its overarching theme, in a broad sense.

Daydreams, romantic fluffy pink dreams, believing in your own dreams. I think there's an importance in these times, to dream big and have a kind of hope. To see a brighter future, says Nagano.

She doesn't mean that we should turn a blind eye to the darkness, but is afraid that the present gives us a paralyzing feeling of "what's the point of going on?"

Children are dying in Palestine, it feels so sad that it is actually happening today. In order to be able to look at the possibility of a more beautiful future, it feels like you have to start imagining it in your own words. To give fuel to the hope and dream of a world that has peace and where we take care of our planet.

Becomes popular

With songs like “Human Heart” and “Get It Over,” she has explored her broad musical preferences. She also recently received the Stena Foundation’s cultural scholarship, which will allow her to experiment with visual expression further in the future.

Otherwise, Yukimi Nagano is looking forward to becoming popular, as a house artist in "On the Trail" - even if she is not a die-hard fan.

"I have foreign parents so it's not something that's been passed down to me. At first I felt 'what a strange program' but then you end up sitting there nodding at the band members that you know the answer," she says.

She does not rule out more collaborations with Little Dragon, especially ahead of the anniversary year 2027, when it will be 20 years since they released their debut album.

But the space we give each other right now is very important.

Artist who co-founded the band Little Dragon. Released the solo album "For you" in the spring of 2025. The EP "Yume" will be released on November 5, with four new tracks. Yukimi collaborates with, among others, Canadian artist Saya Grey.

Yukimi also plays with the band in "På spåret" in programs 4–6, in the company of Oskar Linnros, Esta Kirabo and Titiyo.

This spring she is going on tour. Tour dates: 16/4 Gothenburg, 17/4 Oslo, 24/4 Stockholm, 23/5 Lund, 24/5 Copenhagen.
