A new round of negotiations between the USA and Iran on the Iranian nuclear energy program will take place in Rome on Friday, announced Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi on X.
This will be the fifth round since the negotiations began. Oman is acting as a mediator in the mainly indirect talks.
Iran has confirmed Friday's meeting through its Foreign Ministry.
The US President Donald Trump has recently spoken positively about the talks and said that a new nuclear energy agreement may be near.
Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said as recently as Tuesday that he doubts that the two countries will be able to agree on a new agreement.
