Olympic Weightlifting Bronze Medalist Bozjidar Andreev Banned for Four Years After Positive Doping Test

Weightlifter Bozjidar Dimitrov Andreev won bronze at the Paris Olympics two years ago. Now the Bulgarian has been suspended for taking the anabolic steroid mesterolone.

Andreev returned a positive doping test last year and has now been handed a four-year ban, which runs until November 2029. This means the 29-year-old will be unable to compete at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The Olympic bronze medal Andreev won in the 73-kilogram class at the Paris Games is not affected by the ban, however.
