American shot putter Raven Saunders, Olympic Games silver medalist 2021, is suspended for two and a half years for violating anti-doping rules.

This is announced by the US Anti-Doping Agency (Usada).

29-year-old Saunders has missed three so-called whereabouts reports where athletes must in advance state where they are to be able to be doping tested.

This is the second time Saunders is punished for this and therefore she is suspended for 30 months – the normal punishment is one to two years of suspension.

Last time Saunders was suspended was August 2022 to February 2024. Now all her results from December 2024 are deleted.
