With 135 days left until the Olympic Games in Milano and Cortina, the Swedish team's official clothing collection was presented on Wednesday.
All garments had at least one yellow detail, except for the mogul skiers', which are only blue and white to better blend in with the snow.
It is less visible when you wave your arms, explains the Swedish star Walter Wallberg and continues:
You want to be as still as possible with your body. It should look as easy as possible if you are going to make it easy. If you have black arms, it is quite visible as soon as you start moving them.
Can be decisive
Sweden is not the only country using the strategy to get extra points. Now almost everyone is driving with white arms and legs, with color above the knees to make the technique visible, says Wallberg.
It has been discussed that you should not be allowed to drive in white, but it has not been implemented yet. Then it may be that if you have very good technique, it can benefit you if you have blue pants. But most often you win by having white, he says and laughs.
Can it be the difference in a placement?
100 percent.
Big medal hope
At the Olympic Games in Peking 2022, Wallberg drove with black arms, but it was enough all the way to gold. To the Olympic Games in Italy, he is going again as a big medal hope.
Last year, I was second after the qualification and the pressure was great because people expected a medal. I have been through it before and know how it feels, says Wallberg.
The mogul skiing in the Olympic Games starts on February 10 and the competitions are decided in Livigno.
