She was part of the team that won the last Swedish Olympic medal in dressage. Now Ingamay Bylund has died. The rider was 78 years old.

Ingamay Bylund made history when she – together with her horse Aleks – won team bronze at the Olympics in Los Angeles. The bronze from 1984 is Sweden's last Olympic medal in dressage, writes the magazine Ridsport. The team also came fourth individually and also participated in two World Championships and one European Championship.

The dressage team also included Ulla Håkansson and Louise Nathorst.

On Instagram, Bylund is honored by, among others, Patrik Kittel.

"Dear Ingamay... you were the first to believe in me. You took on a guy who was a 'nobody,'" he writes.

“A few years ago you came down to visit and you gave me a hug and said, ‘I knew you’d make it.’ You will be missed.”
