+ Damkronorna chase the long-awaited medal
20 years after the last Olympic medal (silver) and twelve years after the last medal match (loss against Switzerland), the Damkronorna are back in the medal round. In the quarter-finals against the USA (0–5), the Swedes had no chance. In the bronze medal match, Switzerland awaits - just like in 2014.
+ Japanese figure skating duel
Heading into the final free program, Japanese rising star Ami Nakai, 17, leads ahead of teammate and three-time world champion Kaori Sakamoto. Behind her are reigning world champion Alysa Liu (USA) and fellow Japanese skater Mone Chiba. A year ago, Nakai finished 15th in the Japanese championships - now she is edging towards Olympic gold.
+ Premiere of new Olympic sport
Ski mountaineering - where athletes climb a mountain on skis and then ski down - is on the Olympic program for the first time. Thursday's sprint competition consists of a short but intense course where participants climb a hill with skins on their skis. Once at the top, the skins are removed and the skiers descend to the finish line as quickly as possible. No Swedes are participating, and orienteers Tove Alexandersson and Jerker Lysell failed to qualify.
TV: SVT/SVT Play and TV4/TV12/TV4 Play - everything is also streamed on HBO Max. Radio: P4 Radiosporten/P3/the Sveriges Radio app.
