"I have a few things to deal with and discuss with my doctors," Wallberg told TT after the Olympics in Italy ended without a medal in February.
Now the 26-year-old - who has had problems with his back and both knees, among other things - has made up his mind.
If I'm going to make another attempt, I have to get my body back to 100 percent so it doesn't become something half-hearted, Wallberg tells DN.
After talking with my doctors, I have decided to skip next season to really give my body a "reset".
He will therefore miss the World Cup in Austria in March and aims to return for the 2027–28 season.
