Curl-Salemme was part of the U.S. team that won Olympic gold in Milan in February. The Detroit forward has also won two World Championship gold medals and two silver medals.
“We will definitely miss Britta in the lineup as we step onto the ice for our first season, but we are so happy for her and Andrew as they begin an exciting new chapter in their lives,” Detroit general manager Manon Rhéaume wrote on X.
Curl-Salemme finished third in the PWHL scoring standings last season with 29 points, including 11 goals. She played for Minnesota.
