Olle Dahlin took over the helm of biathlon in 2018 from the now-convicted Norwegian Anders Besseberg.
At the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) closing session in Milan, Dahlin was recognized for his "outstanding services to world sport," the IOC said in a press release.
"When Olle became President of the IBU in 2018, the sport needed someone who could restore trust, uphold its values and put athletes at the center. With patience and clarity, he changed the culture of the sport," Coventry said.
