Stones' drama thriller "JFK" from 1991 deals with the investigation of the murder of the American president in Dallas 1963. On Tuesday, Stone is called to testify in Congress in Washington DC due to the thousands of documents concerning the murder that have recently been made public.
It was earlier this year that Donald Trump issued a presidential decree to publish documents related to the murders of John F Kennedy, Senator and presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy, and civil rights activist Martin Luther King.
"JFK", starring Kevin Costner in the lead role, was nominated for eight Oscars and won two. It grossed over two billion kronor, but many also questioned the truthfulness of the film.
Also, authors Jefferson Morley and James DiEugenio, who have written books about conspiracy theories surrounding the murder, will be heard on Tuesday.
